Justice League of America #58 Ad - Nov. 1967

sgDC didn't usually use up a whole page of ad space just to promote one book, but they obviously thought they had a real winner with this new 80-Page Giant!

As always, beautifully designed by Ira Schnapp.

...And they're the "World's Greatest Super-Heroes" - well before the 70's toy moniker.

I always thought everyone looked kind of squat here. I know they are actually squatting, but their proportions are a bit off and they look like Masters of the Universe figures. It hardly matters though, cuz Infantino is a design genius. The cover really works!

And that's the most ticked-off Batman since 1939.

Interesting how the ad for JLA 57 mentions "J'onn J'onzz" but the ad for JLA 58 features "Martian Manhunter."

i believe this is the first time DC used the "WGSH" moniker...it starts showing up on the covers in about 20 issues or so!

Cool ad......it's a shame that Amos Fortune is the villain in that first tale.....ahh, what a waste. I tell ya', the Avengers definitely had a leg up on the JLA in the villain department back then.

Rob-

Loved this book - got it coverless for 10c, likely, along with a Giant SweeTart for 5c

(As to "WGSH," I have a hazy memory that it might appear in one of those inside-cover b&w ads even before this?)
